Maestro

By: Bryan Rye

A pale coolness the color of butterscotch cream,
exhaling breath of soft blue gray sweeping throughout,
overtopped by dark furrow, a boisterous summer shower.

Beneath, an open trust of vulnerable field,
enriched by quina red and burning siena.

Maestro standing tall as thunder’s roof
intermediary between fearless fragility and spread might.
Boldly thrusting forth guiding hand as fire hair leaps.
